SANA Wellness Series: Meet Salia from Holistic Cocktails

Tell us who you are and what you do.

My name is Salia, and I’m the founder and mixologist behind Holistic Cocktails. Holistic Cocktails is a resource that provides non-alcoholic drink recipes and sober living tips. The recipes include ingredients that are functional, which means they provide a mood boost and help decrease stress by the use of plant medicine such as adaptogens. The drinks are mindful of your general health and wellness, and have short and long term benefits such as regulating your hormones, stress, boosting your mood, and some are made specifically for gut and skin health. They are great for socializing and having something in hand, enjoying something that actually has health benefits, and is a perfect alternative if you’re looking for a drink that gives you a body “buzz” without alternating your mental cognition.

What inspired you to start your journey in helping others on their wellness journey?

I’ve dealt with mental health issues and was in the process of healing my gut. Because of this, I realized that alcohol no longer aligned with my wellness goals, but I also didn’t want to feel left out during social gatherings. Merging the use of functional herbs to help with mental and physical health, with a beverage that can be enjoyed with friends or in any occasion was the perfect synergy to create a mocktail.

What are the top 3 wellness hacks you can’t live without?

  • Removing alcohol from my lifestyle and swapping it for plant medicine
  • Getting outside as much as possible
  • Journaling, praying, reading, honestly anything that can get my thoughts out and processed.

What inspires you?

Helping people be their best self and break free of mental health issues is a huge inspiration and reason why I do Holistic Cocktails. Mental health issues, such as depression and anxiety, can be a huge hindrance for someone from feeling and being their absolute best. By providing resources to help people find a path that supports their mental and physical health, I believe we can help more and more people heal.

What’s your favorite mocktail recipe for mental clarity or one to wind down?

The drink “Mindset” is perfect for winding down for the evening, taking a journal out, and just having a moment.
